New Year’s Eve

Bring in 2019 in style!  Spend this new year in some great company enjoying some fantastic food.  Well, we can’t promise the company (that’s up to you!) but we can definitely promise the fantastic food!

It will be a lovely evening with a relaxed and friendly dining atmosphere, great service, a complimentary glass of bubbles on your arrival and 6 delicious courses of fine food.

ON ARRIVAL

Glass of bubbles

STARTERS

Smoked haddock and shellfish chowder with diced potatoes in a creamy parsley and chive sauce
Game terrine of duck, rabbit and pheasant with Cumberland sauce, dill pickles and toasted wholegrain bloomer bread
Honey glazed crispy pork belly and haggis popcorn with celeriac remoulade and wilted spinach finished with whisky braised apple sauce
Pan seared scallops in a white butter sauce with black pudding, pea & mint purée, and winter leaves
Saffron risotto with charred white asparagus spears, broad beans and pea shoots finished with a parmesan crisp (v)

INTERMEDIATE COURSE

Pink gin and grapefruit sorbet

MAINS

Tournedos Rossini – 7oz fillet of beef wrapped in pancetta, mushroom and duck liver duxelles, served with fondant potato, asparagus spears and madeira sauce
Trio of fish – red mullet, lobster tail and cod fillet with roast pearl potatoes and carrot purée finished with a creamy champagne sauce
Chestnut mushrooms, spinach & gruyère cheese filo tart with sautéed potatoes, chargrilled Portobello mushrooms and a thyme, brandy & Dijon cream sauce
Roasted rack of lamb with garlic roasted vine cherry tomatoes, butter crushed potatoes and Kalamata olives accompanied with a rosemary and thyme red wine jus
Chicken valentino with roasted red peppers, chives and mozzarella served with Italian herb cous cous and sherry sauce
(All mains are served with chantenay carrots, green beans and broccoli)

HOMEMADE DESSERTS

Lemon cheesecake with red cherry compôte and Chantilly cream
Chocolate fondant with peanut butter ganache, praline crunch and vanilla ice cream
Trio of profiteroles – strawberry Romanoff, orange cream, and mint choc chip all served with a trio of chocolate sauce
Prosecco soaked winter berry fruit trifle and jelly topped with crème anglaise and Chantilly cream
Cheeseboard – A special selection of local cheese with biscuits, crackers, celery, grapes and chutney (£4 supplement)

Tea or coffee with chocolates for the table

We will happily suggest some options for wines and champagnes if you would like to organise these in advance please just ask if you want some help choosing! Or if you would like to organise a chilled bottle of champagne for when the clock strikes 12.

Booking

Tables must be booked in advance for New Years Eve.  Please call 0151 336 3931 to reserve your table.  A non refundable deposit of £10 per person is required in advance to guarantee your booking. A pre-order will also be required no later than Thursday 20th December.
